My USB Stick / memory stick is not recognizable. What should I do?

There's not a lot of things you can do. If your PC can not recognize the device then an electronic part of your device is destroyed. Call us immediately.

How much will the data recovery cost?

The data recovery cost for USB Sticks & Memory Cards is divided in two cases: 30€ - 180€ for logical damages (see below) and 180€ - 350€ for electronic damages.

What procedure do you follow?

In a few words, we pick up the device and we check it in order to determine if the damage is logical or electronic. If the damage is logical then we recover the data with specialized software. If the damage is electronic then the device's chip is put on a special device through which the addresses are decrypted and combined in order to get the actual data.

I only need a specific folder with files from my damaged device. Will you charge differently if I ask you to recover 2-3 files?

No. The cost is the same whether we recover 1 ΜΒ or hundrends of GB. The reason is that in order to be able to recover even a single file from the damaged device, we should have finished the whole procedure.

What data can not be recovered?

Data can not be recovered when the chip on which data is written is destroyed. This can happen if the chip is burned or destroyed in any way. In all other cases data can be recovered.

My data is encrypted.

No problem.

I connect the USB Stick / memory stick and I get a message that it needs to be formatted. What should I do?

Don't format the device and contact us immediately in order to recover your data. This is a classic 'logical' damage where the system with which the device recognizes the filesystem is destroyed. Your data are recoverable, as long as you don't experiment trying to recover it yourself.

I opened up the device and tried to correct the damage myself. Did I make things worse?

If you haven't messed with the chips then no.

What about confidentiality?

We pickup your drive using a confidentiality agreement between both sides which safeguards the client from any use of his/her data. We ensure you that confidentiality is crucial to us.

What if the recovered data do not include the ones I really wanted, what will I pay?

Before the actual data recovery begins we will inform you about the files that will be recovered, either by phone if the files are few, or we will send you a list if the files are many. That way you can check if your desired data are included in the files to-be-recovered. Of course, if the data you want can not be recovered you will not be charged at all.

How much does the drive evaluation cost?

The drive evaluation is completely free.

We should note here that if the damage is electronic then your device's warranty will break during recovery process, since the device is disassembled. If the damage is logical then the warranty will be retained.

My data are precious and I need it immediately. When can I have it?

Usually recovery requires 1-3 days, depending on the device's size and the complexity of the analysis we will have to perform.

Can you come by our premises to make the recovery?

Certainly not. Whoever claims that he can do that is not a professional. Avoid such companies or individuals because you will probably result in worsening your drive's condition.

In what type of device will you return me my data?

In whatever type you tell us. If the data size is small then we can burn them for free on a DVD. If the data size is big then we will have to copy them to a hard drive which you will have to pay extra.
