Single Drive Infection
- HDD with Encrypted Data
- *Regardless of Manufacturer or Capacity
- *The price is valid for one single drive. In case of multiple drive’s infection (NAS, Server), please contact us.
The cost of data recovery from a hard drive infected by Ransomware ranges between 250-450€ +VAT.
The variation concerns the complexity of the strain and depends on various factors, including the existence or not of a vulnerability in the strain, the percentage of encrypted data for each file (in Hex values) etc.
The cost is REGARDLESS of the capacity or the manufacturer of the drive.
The price concerns a single hard drive that has been infected.
In case of infection of multiple drives, drive arrays, or NAS, contact us.
At Northwind Data Recovery, we have developed a method by which we can recover a significant percentage of data, under certain conditions, even if the decryption key is unknown. This solution may be useful if all other methods fail.
Although it is not a complete solution, it can be lifesaving.
The conditions that must be met in this case are:
a. The original infected drive must be intact (NOT a copy of the data).
b. The drive must NOT be an SSD (*an updated methodology is in development, which will enable recovery even if the drive is SSD, but this methodology is not yet complete).
c. It should not be particularly important files, such as SQL databases, as in these cases, the chances of success are significantly reduced. In contrast, “classic” file types (such as images and documents, .jpg, .pdf, .doc/.docx, .xls/.xlsx, etc.) have good chances of being recovered.
d. Recovery without structure (i.e., “bulk” files in a folder without file names and folders) makes sense to the end user.
All 4 of the above conditions must be met.
The cost in this case is 250€+VAT, if the result satisfies the client. Otherwise, there is no charge.
